Inside Residence 04, Outremont
A double-height living room, a low sectional and one rule: nothing in the room is there for show.
The clients wanted a room that felt calm at nine in the morning and generous at nine at night. The ceiling did half the work. Our job was to keep everything else low.
A modular sofa anchors the room, in oat linen that reads warm in daylight. A travertine table gives it weight. Lamps replace overhead light after dusk.
We left the walls bare for the first month. Only then did the owners tell us what they wanted to hang.
