Care Guide

Well-made things need very little. A few habits will keep yours looking better with age.

AURELIA is a fictional brand created for a Blackbox Development demonstration. The policies on this page are sample text.

Solid oak and walnut

Wipe with a soft, barely damp cloth. Keep wood out of direct, prolonged sun and away from heat vents.

  • Use coasters and trivets. Natural oil finishes resist water for a while, not forever.
  • Refresh the finish once a year with the care oil we include. Two thin coats, wiped back after ten minutes.
  • Small marks sand out. Write to us and we will tell you how.

Travertine and marble

Stone is porous. Wipe spills quickly, especially wine, coffee and citrus, which can etch the surface.

  • Clean with warm water and a drop of pH-neutral soap. Avoid vinegar and bathroom cleaners.
  • Honed stone patinates. That soft wear is part of its character.
  • We offer on-site resealing and polishing in Montréal and Toronto.

Bouclé, linen and performance weave

Vacuum weekly with a soft brush. Blot spills, never rub. Covers on sofas are removable and can be dry-cleaned.

  • Rotate and plump seat cushions every week for even wear.
  • Keep light bouclé away from dark denim for the first months, as dye can transfer.

Full-aniline leather

Aniline leather is natural and will show marks. These blend into a soft patina over time. Dust with a dry cloth, and condition once a year with a neutral leather balm.

Bronze and alabaster

Brushed bronze darkens gently with handling. Dust alabaster with a dry brush and never submerge it.
